The Select Board is quietly sucking portions of Elmbrook, Dellovo and possibly even Webber and Kelley Conservation Areas into the 100% Design or Construction Plan. This puts Town Conservation land in path of bulldozers that will clear trees, pave, and otherwise degrade this reserved land.
The Town is not following the process of multi layered public review mandated by the Commonwealth. Public discussion in open meeting is legally required before any conversion of conservation land to other purposes.
State law intended for Conservation land to have robust protections, with a high bar to change the land, and a clearly stated set of requirements. None have been met.
No. 10 has language that lets the Town take these parcels without following the law. Get an insider's explanation of Town documents and the process that must be followed.
